About this data measure
- Lack of insurance and the high cost of health care means that uninsured adults are less likely to receive preventive care and services for major health conditions and chronic diseases. (Source: Kaiser Family Foundation)
- While Rhode Island remains one of the top performing states in the nation, the percentage of Rhode Island adults who are uninsured increased slightly since 2018.
- Unemployed Rhode Islanders, foreign born residents who have not gained citizenship, and Hispanic adults are more likely to be uninsured than other groups.
