- Nursing homes have, and continue toward, reducing antipsychotic use in response to increasing evidence of the marginal benefits and potential adverse effects. (Source: CMS)
- Since mid-2020 the use of antipsychotic medications has increased to a level well above what was seen in 2017. Rhode Island has remained above the national average since 2017 and is one of the lowest performing states for this indicator.
